Our Production Process

Our semiconductor chips measure, control and regulate numerous comfort, safety and engine functions in your vehicle. Our products are inside almost all cars produced by European manufacturers. This is our principal market: We earn about 90 percent of our sales with products specially suited to the automobile industry. Industrial and consumer markets form our second revenue pillar. Here our circuits fulfill sophisticated functions as well, from the electric iron’s automatic switch-off to the garden sprinkler’s control.

From the idea to the finished product, we develop and produce semiconductor chips offered from one source. For this purpose, our employees in clean room and testing division work in four shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And our development and design divisions do constant research on new technologies, new components, and new modules.

Development of an ASIC

The customer specifications form the basis for creating a solution and describe the required functions of the semiconductor chip in detail. These specifications represent a starting point for both the kind and scope of development steps.more

Manufacturing Semiconductors

In this part of production it is dust-free and almost sterile. The complete area is called Frontend because it is at the beginning of the production chain, out of which an ASIC will arise. more

Assembly and Test

Up until now the production process has led to the finished wafer on whose surface lots of tiny rectangles can be identified. These represent the individual chips which will be characterized more precisely later on. more

Applications and Quality

Integrating the chips happens automatically. Along a typical PCB production line (PCB = Printed Circuit Board) for surface-mounted components, specially prepared areas of the circuit boards are covered with a solder paste in a screen printing procedure. more
